It seems as if the at-home sports experience is set for a change in the coming years. ESPN 3D is set to launch on June 11, and will be broadcasting the first 2010 FIFA World Cup match, featuring South Africa vs. Mexico.
It appears that in this decade, the digital world and the physical world are on a collision course. Films and now TV seem to be going the route of the 3D experience. Cell phones now feature different augmeted reality applications. During the elections we saw interviews being conducted via holograms. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Everything that as a kid was considered the “way of the future”, is now becoming a part of our daily lives.
